 हरेक बर्ष April 23 मा मनाइने विश्व पुस्तक दिवश नेपालमा पनि मनाइन थालिएको छ । पुस्तकले मान्छेको समय व्यतित गराउने मात्र होइन ।जिन्दगी नै परिवर्तन गरिदिएका कयाै उदाहारणहरू हामी सुनिरहेका छाै । के हो त विश्व पुस्तक दिवश चर्चा गराै। हरेक वर्ष April 23 मा पुरै विश्वले मनाउने पुस्तक दिवश एक बार्षिक कार्यक्रम हो । 23 April 1995 मा पहिलोपटक यूनेस्कोद्वारा विश्व पुस्तक दिवश को शुरूवात गरेको हो । किताब पढनका लागि विश्वमै उत्साहप्रद यो दिन आजका दिनसम्म आइपुग्दा १०० भन्दा बढी देशले मनाउन थालिसकेका छन । विश्व पुस्तक दिवशको इतिहास विश्व पुस्तक दिवस मनाउने पछि धेरै कथाहरू छन्। स्पेनमा Miguel de Sarvants नामक सबै भन्दा प्रसिद्ध लेखक को श्रद्धांजलि गर्न को लागी, विश्व पुस्तक दिवस र पुस्तकहरु को बीच सम्बन्धApril,23 1923 मा स्थापित भएको थियो । यो दिन माइगेल डे सर्भन्सको  पुण्यतिथी हो। विश्व पुस्तक दिवश तथा प्रकाशनधिकार दिवश नामले चिनिने यो दिन पुस्तक प्रकाशन अधिकार सम्वन्धि विभिन्न कार्यक्रम गरिन्छ । विश्व पुस्तक दिवशको नारा 1998 मा  "पढनका लागि कुल होअैा" 1999मा  "एउटा पुस्तक द

संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघ को दिगो विकाश समाधान नेटवर्कले हरेक वर्ष प्रकाशन गर्ने रिपोर्टमा यो वर्ष नेपाल १०० औ राष्ट्रमा परेको छ । २०१८ को रिपोर्टमा नेपाल १०१ स्थानमा थियो । रिपोर्ट प्रविधि, सामाजिक मान्यता, द्वन्द्व र सरकारी नीतिहरूले पारेको प्रभावको आधारमा तयार पारिन्छ ।   रिपोर्ट निर्माणमा १४ आधारहरू रहेका छन (1) व्यापार र आर्थिक (2) नागरिक संलग्नता (3) संचार र प्रविधि (7) वातावरण र ऊर्जा (8) खाना र आश्रय (9) सरकार र राजनीति (10) कानुर र व्यवस्था (सुरक्षा) (11) स्वास्थ्य (12) धर्म र नैतिकता (13) यातायात (14) काम दक्षिण एसियाली देशमध्ये पाकिस्तान ६७, भुटान ९५, बंगलादेश १२५, श्रीलंका १३० र अफगानिस्तान १५४ औं स्थानमा छ ।भने भारत १४० स्थानमा छ ।
